Everglades Hiking Expeditions Walk Across the Everglades |
| Join us for a once in a lifetime experience on a walk across the Everglades. Traveling with a guide, this adventure takes you through all the classic habitats including cypress strands, sawgrass prairies, pine flatwoods and rainforest-like hammocks. Although we strongly recommend this trip during the dry season, don’t be fooled! At any time you can expect to encounter plenty of mud, sand, bugs and knee deep water crossings. |
| Despite all the challenges, the scenery on this trek is spectacular and is outstanding for photographers. From its blooming wildflowers to open prairies, the opportunities are as endless as the ever-changing landscapes. |
| Wildlife encounters are always possible and could include deer, hawks, owls, raccoons, snakes, wading birds, alligators (at a safe distance) and an amazing variety of butterflies. This area is also home to the endangered Florida Panther and Black Bear which we've tracked on several occassions. |
Most of our routes are on umarked primitive paths which often requires climbing over downed trees and wading through dense wet forests. We've had all types of people on this trip from scouts to school teachers, tourists to serious adventurers. It's a great character and team building experience...something you'll never forget! |
